So, you’re probably thinking, “Okay, so going viral is basically like winning the lottery.”

In essence, yes.

The funny thing about internet stardom is that it happens quickly and dies out almost just as quickly.

But, that’s not to say that you can’t work hard towards obtaining a large following, generating a consistent number of likes and shares, and becoming successful online.

It just takes time, patience, persistence, and a hell of a lot of work.

And if you’re up for the challenge, then most certainly go for it. You can easily find tutorials, TED talks, books, and success stories about people who have made their living by doing this kind of work. It is not impossible.

However, it IS a commitment.

And quite frankly, I’m probably not even the best person to be writing this article because I myself haven’t even carved out that level of dedication yet.

I’m still working full-time in an office job while simultaneously establishing my rapport as an online author with no formal writing degree, training, or work experience in the field.

But I’m getting there slowly, but surely — And you can too.

Just don’t get discouraged at the fact that not everything you publish will be seen by the thousands or millions.
